Advantages: Packed with celeb news

Disadvantages: No Coleen =(

Closer magazine is a weekly gossip magazine that I read religiously. I love everything from the layout to the content. Admittedly, it's not everyone's cup of tea but it suits me down to the ground. I get this from my partner's mum after she's read it saving myself the £1.30 that it costs. (Allowing me to buy other magazine that I buy like reveal and heat). It's a girly magazine that will satisfy pretty much anyone who likes to read about what's going on in the world of celebrities.

The contents page is clear and laid out way, in order for you to go straight to any of the front page headline articles. Celebrity based articles are the first few pages. A favourite celebrity of mine, Katie Price, almost always has an article written about her. In these are quite often discussed their weight issues and relationship problems.

Closer always has one or two real life stories in each magazine. Where they get the crazy people who tell their real life incestuous stories from, I will never know, but it gives me and my work colleagues lots of laughs. Halfway into the magazine, there are also a few pages dedicated to fashion and whats hot and whats not for that week. You're often given details of where you can buy each product and for how much.

For me, the only disappoint with this magazine, is the loss of Coleen McLoughlin as a columist as I always looked forward to seeing what she would suggest as the weekly fashion by, as we all know she's hot on her fashion tips. Danii Minogue's column the X Files has replaced Coleen, and although I don't like it as much, it's similar enough to fill the void. And I also think that there are too many adverts padding out the magazine, although not as many as some (like Glamour). Ulrika Johnson also has her own column in this, but to be honest, I don't really like her, don't care about her opinions so kind of skip over the page.

I love the puzzles section of this magazine. I think this adds something that alot of the other magazines that this is fighting for customers, doesn't have a area like this. I love it because it gives you something to do in your lunch hour. The puzzles that they include are a wordsearches, sudoku and crosswords. I like one of them in particular as it's celeb based and I can usually complete it!!

Diet Insider, I love for the simple reason it gives you good alternatives for the food you love. It also gives you a recipe per week for a (usually) nice meal. And they tend to be quite good for you. Fridge Raider is yet another of the articles that I rush to read each week. It describes to you what is inside a different celebs fridge. I love seeing if mine is similar to theirs, and if any of them are a little bit naughty! You then get an experts opinion on whether or not they have a good diet. To be honest, I think almost all of them do!!

This Weeks TV is a regular for Closer Magazine. In this section, you have a guide of what is on telly for the following week. Extremely helpful for me as I'm a telly addict and it helps me to plan what I'm going to watch for the coming week.

The way I read the magazine is a bit backwards, because I start at the back page reading Guilty Pleasures and then start at the beginning. In this section, a celebrity is asked a variety of guilty pleasure questions, for example, What is the most tragic cd you own? Celebrities that have been interviewed in the section in the past include Strictly Come Dancing judges, Craig Revel-Horwood and Len Goodman and the current Joseph actor Lee Mead.

So, in conclusion to this review, I recommend this magazine to any girls (or guys) out there who like to read about what's going on in celebs lives, especially for a mere £1.30. Can't be off with that.

Summary: A magazine unlike the rest
