Rating:

'Community Care' is the 'trade' magazine for what the magazine itself terms as 'social care professionals'. Particularly, it is aimed at Social Workers (all branches). Having said that you would probably not expect it to be a dazzling and exciting read in your spare time, but for passing a few hours at work, looking like you are studying the latest research data (when you are actually trawling through the jobs section) it is a perfect little number. "The Voice of Social Care" - it most certainly is. This weekly publication is the bible of social care. Community Care is the weekly magazine for everyone in social care in the statutory and voluntary sectors, and for local and central government policy makers and academics. It contains breaking news across the whole spectrum and is an essential source of information for students/workers in the field of social care. With 2 out of three health care professionals rating it as their main source of information - its usefulness cannot be understated. As well as the magazine format (which is discounted heavily for students at only £54 a year as opposed to £1.55 .  Read the complete review

World of Cross-Stitching - Excellent instructions for beginners, plenty of projects, clear photos. Not much variety in the projects, free gifts could be better

Livingetc. - You learn how the other half live Wasting the £3.60 cover price when you obviously should be saving up for furniture

Psychologist - See below none

VideoGamer - Cheap, honest, covers all formats equally. Very occasional 'lad mag' style writing.

WM (What Matters) - As good as many 'pay-for' magazines and MUCH better than many ! Too much emphisis on LUXURY goods, but that's OK too, as it only published every two months.
