Company Magazine
This is the only glossy magazine I currently subscribe to. I decided to subscribe after buying it on and off over a period of a year.
I always tried other magazines, but wasn't impressed with any, in comparison to Company! Infact, I decided not to buy several other magazines at all, due to being sick of tossing them aside after 10 minutes!
Firstly, Company is not overloaded with advertisements - one of the things that really irritates me about some of the other glossies. Instead, you'll genuinely find loads of readable articles on a wide range of topics aimed at the female reader (although my boyfriend quite enjoys a read now and again!). There is also tons of informative snippets distributed throughout the mag for you to read.
As with most glossies you'll find the usual pages giving the lowdown on the celebrity gossip and fashion and beauty. There are also pages giving book reviews, music reviews, video reviews etc.
One of the things that attracts me to Company magazine is the humour that it contains in relation to the way articles are written - witty and very funny!
The problem pages are also very good. Instead of your usual his n her problem pages, Company has separate pages to deal with relationships, careers and money matters! Advice from the latter coming in handy for myself on one occasion!!
I would think this monthly magazine would be more suitable for women aged 18 +, not due to its adult theme or anything, but I would imagine it would be quite dull for today's teenager!
If you're sick of being ripped off by magazines plastered with adverts and huge pictures taking up most of the pages with very little text, then I would recommend trying Company out!
Look out for the great gifts you can get if you subscribe - I got a Coolwater set!
