Premium Review Computer Buyer (443 words)

This magazine is a very valuable tool to have if you are planning to buy a new computer, upgrading or buying a computer peripheral. At £2.99 it’s reasonably priced for this sort of magazine, and includes a cover disc. October’s issue has Lotus Smart Suite worth £374. Okay, it’s an old version - 1997, and I imagine the price is exaggerated for today, but it’s still good for £2.99. Internet Explorer 5.5 is also included, and other useful Internet software and utilities and games. Some of these are demos, some shareware and for some the full product is included. One of the best things about this magazine is that it is very easy to read and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Computer Buyer: A computer magazine thats easy to understand (314 words)
by - written on 28/11/01 (Very useful, 68 readings)
Rating:

Computer Buyer does cost £2.99 but it is definately worth it. Basically it is a magazine that is full of opinions for everything you want for your Computer. Each month it does a review on the latest PCs and peripherals, tells you the price to expect to pay and all details. Tried and Tested is another article and this is on games, learning and leisure. Lab Tests. Here a team tells you their verdict on all the latest PC products. They give up to 5 stars and what I like about this is they tell you "total" prices, not prices and then say you have to add on such and such for this and that. They are not afraid of telling the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Keep it simple (127 words)
by - written on 10/10/00 (Useful, 13 readings)
Rating:

This mag is one of the better ones around for the 99% of us who are not geeks. It targets the less technophile end of the market, but not as simply as the weekly ComputerActive (?) rag. Its useful for reviews of new PCs, new bits of hardware, and some games and software. It runs articles on the simpler DIY things to do with PCS both hardware and software related. It also has a remarkably high ratio of content to adverts, especially given its £2.99 cover price. The CD with it is adequate - but you get little more on mags costing £4.99. Try it, get a subscription if you like it as this is a fraction of the price. A very good middle ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Computer Buyer: One of the better mags (85 words)
by - written on 29/09/00 (Useful, 34 readings)
Rating:

This is one of the few computer magazines that I would buy. It often has reviews or group tests which are relevant to me, and I'm sure others as well. It is well presented and offers a guide to best-buys which is better than most. It comes complete with a good cover disk nearly every month. The news section is up to date, unlike some, and gives a lot of new information. It is fairly easy to navigate and I think suitable to beginners. ...  Read the complete review
