Computer Buyer is a monthly magazine aimed at the novice user upwards. Written in plain English it is easy to pick up and understand first time around. The magazine comes with the obligatory cover cd, this always has a range of usefull games, demos and utilities. The format is aimed at those readers who want to pick it up for a few minutes at a time. None of the articles would take up more than 15 minutes to get through. This is split up into :- Letters Reviews of software and hardware Buyers guide with the top 50 best buys Tutorial - a how to guide with lots of photos Group test - either on a system or peripheral All are well written and give you what you need to know about the product, without going into excessive detail. Products are rated on a marks out of 10 and a performance comparison table gives a quick reference. The adverts don't outnumber the articles, unlike Computer Shopper. The quantity of these is just right. They are split up into sections with systems, consumables etc all having their own slots. A great magazine that seems to always have the right level and type of content. Priced at £2.99 per issue or subscribe for £19.97 per year or £4.99 per quarter on a direct debit.
