I’d picked up a copy of this magazine for the first time, around a year ago when I was looking to buy a new PC, and I’d never bought a copy again as I must admit I wasn’t very impressed. This Christmas however someone actually bought me a subscription to the magazine as a present and after reading it on a regular basis I’m afraid I’m still pretty unimpressed. Why am I unimpressed? Well let me start off by telling you the good things about the magazine first, for it definitely has some good points. The magazine is printed monthly and costs £2.75 this compares very favourably with similar types of magazine ... Read the complete review

I like to keep up on all the latest industry news and there isn't a harder industry than the computer industry to keep up with. That's why I read Computer Shopper. Computer Shopper is the cheapest computer magazine that can be bought. it costs just 2-99 and I think it offers great value. Theres lots of interesting reviews, news, letters and also laughs in here that will keep you hooked for many an hour. The magazine is very thick and contains a lot of adverts. However this serves it's purpose as it allows you to keep a check on latest prices and also advertising revenue enables them to keep the cost of the magazine at such a good price. ... Computer Shopper is a monthly magazine, concentrating not only on Windows PC's but also with Linux, Macs and even Amigas and Ataris. To my knowledge it is the only PC mag which can claim this. Every month the magazine comes with at least one CD, although there are often more. They contain a wide selection of software every month, including many full programs, and the magazine often offers cut price upgrades to the latest versions of software found on its cover. The magazine itself is very thick, and as the name would suggest it has a lot of adverts. This, however isn't just a way to make more money, it forms an easy base from which to find ... Computer Shopper is one of a select few publications that could qualify as the Computer Person's Bible. Admittedly 2/3 of the magazine is solid adverts, but this is one of the advantages of a magazine of this type - you read the reviews of the products, you find the best price from a hefty selection of competing retailers. The magazine has a good reputation for reliable reviews and tests, and sensible, believable reviewers. The core of the magazine is biased strongly towards PCs, but there are columns for most other platforms and interests, including Apple, Atari, Amiga, Linux etc. As I continue to build up my knowledge of computers (even ... If you are looking either for a new computer, add-on or software for your current pride-and-joy, then Computer Shopper is the only magazine you will need. At £2.75 per copy, cover CD, free software, including free demos of the latest games and other software as well as full versions of selected products. Alternatively, you could subscribe for £10.99 per 6 months (£16.50) a saving of (£5.51) equivalent to £1.83 a copy representing a saving of 33% or 92p per issue or two free issues every six months. Lots of adverts – over 400 pages usually But lots of REAL magazine too – around 200 pages Regular features include: ... Read the complete review
