Advantages: Good value, tons of reviews, excellent cover disc
Disadvantages: Too many adverts
Computer Shopper is published by Dennis Publishing and is an excellent product.
Every issue has over a hundred different reviews of products from new PCs to mice, keyboards, speakers and software. Each major review is detailed and comes with the best price and spec of the product. The reviews are fair and unbiased and aren't written in a language that only geeks would understand.
There are also sections that recommend a minimum base spec PC, scanner, printer etc. for people who are unsure what they should be getting for their budget.
The magazine contains a lab section, which involves reviewing many of the same product (different DVD drives, hard discs) and then giving the overall rating and recommendation. THe reviews are very detailed including benchmarking tests and numerical analysis (where possible).
The cover disc is packed full of excellent software from game demos to fully funcitonal utilities to speed up your PC and to maintain it at peak performance.
There are two versions to cater for different budgets. The CD version costs 3.99 and the DVD edition 4.99.
Summary: Excellent value, unbiased reviews, excellent cover disc.
