Computer Shopper..August edition..Issue 162. Just bought the August copy of Computer Shopper and I am impressed with the magazine, firstly it costs only £2.99 as compared with the usual price of other computer mags. You have a good free cd with this months issue which contains the following..Destroy it 2000,the full product,Web Assist,freeware,Ad-aware,freeware,Zone Alarm,Shareware,Fine Print 2000,Shareware,Memturbo 2,Limited product,System Mechanic,Limited product.. There are other things on the cd like SystemCleaner 2001,Spam Killer and a few games. The articles in this months issue are:- Whats New:-The updated guide to hardware and software, which I find interesting as it goes through everything from the latest Desktop Pc to Web Cams to a review on EA Sports F1 Championship Season 2000 for the Pc off course. Corel Office vs Microsoft XP-This gives a review of both and then lets you decide which you favour. Cover Disc Guide-Well this is a few pages about how to load the cover disc and a guide on using the software on the cd.. New Users Start Here-This is basically a shoppers guide with about 25 reviews on computer hardware.I found it very helpful myself. Great Prizes-A few pages giving you the chance to win a Pentium 41.4ghz Pc from Dell, plus smaller prizes of copies of Redhat Linux 7.1 Deluxe Edition or Microsoft Picture It.Photo & Print Studio. 1.7 GHZ Pcs-Here they do a review on 12 different superfast pcs which are all beyond my pocket!!But good reviews on them. LCD Monitors-This is a review on no less than 46 monitors and very helpful it was. Inkjet Printers-Review on 22 printers ranging from £69 to £880,great reviews in this if you are thinking of buying a printer. Those are the headline items, there are also write ups on Hard disks,Graphic cards,Motherboards,Projectors and Scanners. Also you have all the big adverts from Jungle.Com,Simply.c
o.uk and Watford.co.uk plus small adverts from PC World. As well as all that you have letters from readers asking for advice or giving advice, which I found very useful. The magazine is jam packed with items and I was very pleased with it especially as I say it was only £2.99 and for what is in it I would have no hesitation in recommending it for advice or finding a good supplier from say blank cds to ink cartridges. Anyway I hope that was helpful to you and thanks for taking the time to read it?.Cheers?..Art!!!

- 17/07/01 Another Good Opinion Art.
I have read this magazine from time to time, but I only really get it when I am going to purchase a piece of hardware and they do a round up on it. |
