Advantages: Wide range of articles including retro computing

Disadvantages: Like others you need to trawl through adverts

Computer shopper is one of the very few magazines to remain faithful to it's roots. I have been reading this publication on and off since it's launch, at which time i owned a BBC micro and a spectrum.

The one thing that makes this magazine stick out from the crowd, is it's ongoing support of older and less popular platforms. Currently its still runs columns on Amiga, Atari and Acorn machines long thought to be defunct. The magazine acknowledges that when these machines were popular, they sold millions and are sill very popular on the second hand / car boot markets.

These older machines also have a very loyal following and user writtan software base, which is becoming harder and harder to find any information on in the public domain.

The magazine also runs very useful workshops on anything from basic word processing through to advanced windows and programming.

On top of this it offers very informative reviews and buyer guides with the added bonus of protected purchases if you use their own order form when purchasing through adverts in the magazine.

A very useful magazine, for both novice and experienced users alike.
