A trip to your local newsagent to buy a computer magazine presents you with a vast array of choice. One of those is Computeractive.
Published fortnightly and costing £1.20 it represents excellent value for money. There is a good mix of news, software reviews, hardware reviews, letters, PC problems answered and general articles aimed at both the more experienced computer user and the beginner.
The workshop feature is particulary useful as it guides you step by step (with aid of screenshots) through various tasks, anything from backing up your files to giving yourself a makeover!
Any computer jargon is highlighted in print in red. The jargon buster box then explains in plain english what it means. Again, very useful particulary for the beginner ( The magazine is approved by the plain english campaign for this reason ).
Overall, the magazine is a good one for new and experienced user alike. As it covers all aspects of PC's there is likely to be something in there for everyone.
