Advantages: Best general PC mag on the market, excellent PC worhshops, only £1.20

Disadvantages: to many advertisements, not enough on PC news

Issue number 90 of Computer active is in the shops on Thursdays 26 July 2001 and as usual is up to a very high standard.
The news desk covers such items as Britain backs business in spam, Microsofts game of tags ( bit of a control freak old Bill LOL) and ended by some interesting Internet news on Comic relief.

They also do an excellent feature on digital pictures and how to improve them ( as if we ever need to improve them LOL) they also review so of the markets leading image editing software at various prices.
Reviews of hard ware this month includes Sony Vaio LX1 a £2.499 laptop (wow) Hitachi HN 1300-C700 a more modest laptop only £1.407. Reviewed to is a palm M505 £399 and finally a Lexmark Z43 printer £79 ( I use an older model of this and find it great allow the cartridges are quite pricey £32 ....
There is also 2 PC Reviewed a Mesh Matrix 1400 DDR VFM for a mere £1880 ( of which they recommend to buy ) and a much cheaper Polar Proton 800 for £999
Other features Cyber shopping, and some money saving advise on Batteries ( we all waste a lot on them ... Don't we ). MP3 software reviews product they look at are Sonique, Winamp, Musicmatch Jukebox and Windows media..guess which gets the best review?

There step by step work shops which are so easy to follow cover Finding files with windows, Stopping spam, E-mailing a video clip... (one I must try) creating a music data base and BIOS for beginners and all top of with some excellent tips.

With History CD ROM's under the microscope, so don't buy any before you read this article ,,, or you might be sorry!

Games reviewed this issue are Commandos " , Fog, Myst 3, and Z steel soldiers.
