Computeractive is published every fortnight, at £1.20. Unlike the other pc mags this one has no cover cd and manages to keep itself down to a readable size - unlike Computer Shopper weighing in at a tree felling 500 pages.

There isn't an abundance of unnecessary ads just lots of really usefull hints, tips and tutorials on everyday computer tasks. They take things step by step in non technical language, this makes them easy to follow. Adding hardware is another area in which they excell at, plenty of photos with step by step instructions. For a beginer,and we were all beginers once, it really does build confidence in taking the case off your pc and finding out how to improve it.

Every year they take the best of their tutorials and bundle it in a free book with the magazine. If you don't buy it regularly this is well worth while getting and keeping for reference.

Summary:
