Simply Computers is a small mail order based computer company in London. They put out Update magazine and also advertise all over the place. They love accepting orders and taking money.

The problem is that they take far more orders than they can handle. That means many people end up waiting a very long time for their order to be filled and if someone calls in he or she will be on hold for up to half an hour and then get absolutely no answers from the clueless operators.

I've managed to wrangle compensation out of Simply for the huge delay and general rudeness I've experienced. The compensation took the form of a scanner with all the wires and connections missing. Once I bought those, I discovered the scanner didn't even work. They sent me a broken scanner. Great company. I sent it back (paying for the shipping myself) when they promised to just post the value back onto my credit card, but over three weeks later, guess what? No posting. Hello, Watchdog.

Avoid this company. I've met ten others who have used them in the past, and seven had moderate to serious problems with them. Two ended up cancelling their orders. PERIL, PERIL, PERIL.
