PC Plus ... is a computer magazine that covers news, reviews, and new developments and also has a helpdesk section. *FRONT OF THE MAGAZINE* PCPlus usually has 3 ?SuperDiscs? on the front. There is normally 5 ? 10 full programs on the discs, and also freeware programs. There is also trial software, open source software and also on the DVD edition are Linux programs and tweaks. The programs are always useful, but be careful not to go overboard on the installation and the uninstallation! PC Advisor ... Advisor is a magazine that claims to give expert advice in plain English . This is yet another computer magazine on the market that gives away free software and helps advise about PCs. But is it as good as others on the market? COVER DISC There is only one cover disc on this magazine and yes it does have a lot of software on it, but compared to other magazines most of it is trial or shareware products, not full programs. The DVD does seem to rate slightly better (I am only going on what s in the magazine as I buy the CD version) there s more programs and utilities on the DVD. Computer Arts - Magazine ... you wanna be a design super star? This review is for the wannabe and newbie designer. Definitely, Computer Arts is the best computer design magazine for professionals in 2 worlds. I know from my own experience that many newbies do feel attracted to buy this magazine as a learning resource for maturing artistic and software skills. My advice is: save those precious £6 now and go for real beginner?s books on the software you feel most sexually attracted to (you got to have it with passion).
