Advantages: free samples, informations about new products
Disadvantages: a lot of advertisment
I never buy Cosmopolitan regularly, just from time to time. Last weekend when I went shopping and they didn't have my favorite magazine, I buy Cosmopolitan to see if they have changed something.
Cosmopolitan magazine has 300 pages , so it is almost like a book. The cover of the magazine can really catch your eyes and inform you about the articles inside of the magazine. You will also find fact about cosmopolitan being # 1 Women's Magazine. But I think many men will probably find many interesting articles for them self too.
After you open magazine, there comes a little disappointment when you find many advertisments and they continue through almost half of the magazine. I can understand how advertisement can be important, but those guys put there a little bit too much. You can find advertisement about anything, clothes, lotion, fragrances, but the most time about the new products, what can be very useful for some of us. Few pages also includes those little free samples, so you can try the lotion or smell the fragrance.
What are articles about:
Articles in Cosmopolitan have a lot in common with advertisement and it is most time about your hair, skin, body, lips or so. They are giving you tips, what would be the best for your type of skin or hair or ......Again, that might be useful for someone, but after I have seen this in each Cosmopolitan I purchase I would be probably confused which product to use, after they are suggesting so many for you.
If you love celebrities and want to know all about them, you will find something for you in Cosmopolitan. There are few gossips or you can find interview with one of your favorite stars.
If you go on the first date and need to make good impression on someone Cosmopolitan has something for you again. There are few articles about relationship and sex.
You can also find some short review about new books, CDs and DVDs. Cosmopolitan also include monthly horoscope and some fun quiz.
My opinion:
Cosmopolitan is very colorful magazine, with a lot of fun articles, but it is just not for me. If I purchase magazine, I am expecting little bit more. There are just many tips about beauty, fashion and relationship. Don't get me wrong, it can be fun to read about this, but when I read I want to learn something new, gain new information and that's what i can't find in Cosmopolitan.
