Advantages: Some good real life and health articles

Disadvantages: Much editorial content revolves around sex advice - which is a minus if you'd rather not read this

I used to be an avid subscriber of Cosmpolitan magazine, but I opted not to renew my subscription when it ended last year as I got rather fed up with the magazine's content.

Like many of the other magazines aimed at females aged 18-32 (ish), it contains a mix of real life stories, features and shorter articles. My biggest gripe with Cosmopolitan is the apparent focus on articles and features that are geared towards sex. Whether it be advice on how to get better sex or tips on getting more experimental, this seems to be a large chunk of the editorial content, to the point that my Mum even commented on this! I must admit that this was a big factor in my decision to stop my subscription as it was all too depressing for someone who has been single for longer than I care to remember. I must be just about the only women who feels like that though as most of the reviews that I've seen were much more positive than mine.

Summary: UK glossy aimed at young women
