Cosmo lacks originality for me (Cosmopolitan)

Advantages: Free chocolate bar this month

Cosmopolitan is a long standing girlie magazine. Priced at £3.30 it contains articles on celebs, fashion, makeup, men, and usual girl stuff. I used to subscribe but haven't bought it for about 5 years. I bought it this month drawn in by the free BUENO chocolate bar and 20% off at New Look. Oh and another free bag - I'm a bit bored of Magazines giving away free bags - we've got more than enough.

I was very disappointed, or perhaps I have just grown up. I found the articles quite boring, one about Fearne Cotton, a Q & A session didn't either let me know anything I didn't already know (and I don't know much about Fearne!) or incite any originality and inspiration for Cotton and her work. I'm not a fan of straight Q & A's I think they are a lazy way for magazines to portray not much information and bulk out the pages, but hey ho.

The fashion advice didn't inspire me either, although it was good to see more stuff from the actual highstreet. A few other random articles included one about someone who goes inside a CAT scanner whilst having an orgasm to see how the body works - this just made me cringe and I didn't enjoy reading it.

As it has been around for so long I guess many people must still buy it and it has quite a following. I though will be making a strong mental note to never but it again - no matter the lure of chocolate. Incidentally the discount I received in New Look more than paid for the magazine so I don't fell out of pocket.

Summary: I won't be bothering to buy this again
