Women's magazines- one of our little pleasures in life, eh girls? In the grip of this stinking recession, we still need our little treat, and a lovely ladies' mag is definitely my teeny treat of choice.

I have been buying and reading Cosmo for many years, and at Xmas I was blessed with the gift of a years' subscription to the teeny pocket sized mag. Hooray! I was over the moon. Buying the mag from the shops is exciting enough for me, but to have it delivered to your door? Wow, I feel somewhat like a princess...!!!

Cosmo is my mag of choice for many reasons; the grown up content, the silly girly stuff, the Ask Irma pages (she is my most favourite agony aunt), the offers, celeb gossip...Just the right mixture of serious topics, ads, and good old clean fun (as well as the odd sex tip/story/confession!!) I can't stand mags where every other page is an advert- what a total waste of money. I only buy those magazines for the free gifts!!

Their fashion pages offer a great variation on price, location, designer and high street. Another problem with other mags is when they only show you the latest Gucci or Prada! What use is that to me? Telling me about Topshop, Accessorise, Dotty P's...now that's what I like...Thanks Cosmo!

Something I really admire in Cosmo is how they aren't afraid to face up to upsetting issues- This month I read about a woman with a terminal brain tumour, and her moving story. It is so important to raise such awareness, and it is great that they have the courage to include such deep issues within a girly mag.

The free gifts are amazing!! In the past I have got my hands on free bags, flip flops, make up, money off vouchers and so much more I cant even remember. This month, I get a free perfume sample if I show one page of the mag to the sales assistant at the counter. Hooray!

Cosmo is definitely worth signing up for- they do offer some amazing gifts if you subscribe, and when it gets delivered each month, there is a little pang of excitement!! Cosmo is reasonably priced anyway IMO, but with subscription it is much cheaper!
