Advantages: Great read, glossy pages, lots of celeb gossip and real life advice

Disadvantages: More expensive than your regular girlie mag

I buy Cosmopolitan monthly, and as a 20 year old female, it has exactly the sort of stuff I want to read in it.

A celebrity usually embraces the front page, with an interview in the first half of the magazine. The female celeb they pic is always inspiring in some way, either having beaten a disease, or how they made their way into showbiz in a testosterone-ruled world, or how they got through a difficult break up, etc, and all of them offer some helpful advice or sympathy to anyone going through a similar thing.

There are also plenty more celebrity features, such as celebritity features, celeb dating, celeb gossip, etc!

But what I like about Cosmo is that it focuses on real life as well. There's loads of relationship, men, and sex advice which takes up a huge chunk of the magazine and is really interesting to read.

The layout of the mag is simple, with lots of bright colours, and it's easy to read as opposed to some other magazines where there's things going on everywhere so you're not sure what to read first!

Nearer the back of the magazine there are fashion pages, where you can steal a celeb's or model's style at a fraction of the price, new looks out from different clothing shops, what sales are on, what styles are new in for the season, make up tips and techniques and new beauty products' reviews, etc. There's just loads going on in this magazine, from start to finish.

The only thing I do regret a bit is the fact my bank balance is affected a lot by buying this magazine every month! It costs £3.20 a month which does add up. It is a lot more than your usual girlie mag, and the price is a bit closer to that of what a specialist magazine would be, but you do get what you pay for, as there are at least double the number of pages in Cosmo than your regular girlie celeb/real life magazine, and the pages are wonderfully glossy making you feel a bit like a star yourself!

Summary: It's cheaper to suscribe too, so might be worth investing in for this great mag!
