A Fun Read
Member Name: emmal87
Advantages: easy to read, fun
Disadvantages: lacks the quality of articles offered by magazines such as Marie Clare
I have been reading Cosmo for about 6 years now and still thoroughly enjoy it. I have an ongoing subscription and find it to be good value for money. The magazine covers various topics- mainly fashion, beauty and sex. It has some celebrity focused content in the way of reviews and articles but has managed to steer away from becoming another gossip magazine, which is a key reason I continue to read the magazine. The magazine itself does have it's drawbacks. It continues to feature articles aimed at making women perceive their image in a more positive light yet features copious surgery advertisements in the back pages and quite often runs features on specific diets, food to avoid etc. I don't think that the quality of the articles is quite up to speed with magazines such as Marie Clare but I still enjoy reading it. There are often articles on safe sex, sensible drinking etc and it highlights issues such as feminism, sexism etc. It is a lightweight, easy read which passes the time and which I still enjoy 6 years on.
Summary: still a good read
