Advantages: Nice mini kits given as free gifts Disadvantages: Quite expensive for a monthly magazine This monthly magazine is good for small designs that you can turn into greetings cards and although it does contain larger designs, the ones in World of Cross Stitching are generally better. It usually comes with a small free gift which have included mini Winnie and Pooh, Forever Friends and Popcorn the Bear kits in the past. Sometimes the gifts are a bit useless - a thread box that you can't fit much in or thread cutters. It is a magazine that I would recommend but if you buy every edition from a newsagents, it can work out quite expensive (approx £3.75). It is worth either getting a subscription as you save money and get a free gift - usually a cross stitch set for worth about £15 - or only buying certain editions that contain the designs that you want. I used to subscribe and the only reason that I cancelled my subscription is because I couldn't stitch fast enough! Some magazines are published quarterly and if you are only an occasional stitcher, you may find these better value than a monthly. Summary: Good for smaller designs but stick to World of Cross Stitching for large samplers. |
