Advantages: local news, good read, good adverts for bike shops
Disadvantages: getting a little pricey
Cycling Weekly (The Comic ) as it is known in the Cycling World is an excellent read. I have been buying this magazine for years now and never miss an issue. It costs £1.75 and like it's name comes out every week. I usually send my wife out to buy it on a Thursday from WHS. The magazine covers British and Foreign Cycling. You have the regular sections : Write to reply, you can voice your comments about cycling issues, Racing usually local events. Time Trials , all the latest gossip, Local news and Final Word , this is always an interview with a cyclist. There are features on cycling clothing, bike parts, bikes tested etc. There are many adverts on where to buy products . Also there are personnal adverts, where the public can sell their unwanted bikes, spare parts etc. I have have had some good buys from these people. You can even place an advert, requesting items for your bike, usually you get a good response. I like the fact that there are adverts for good bike shops, I do most of my shopping at Ribble Cycles, every week they put an advert in with some great offers. Another one is Parker International, they do a great mail order service. At the moment the Tour de France is on, it is featured in the cycling Weekly and there is a special issue out just featuring that spectacular race. It costs £2.95. Every week I look forward to receiving the magazine and I think it's the best Cycling mag around. -

ANDREWSJK - 13/07/01 I like the really mountainous bits where the guys run up the mountains beside the riders with pitchforks in their hands !! |
