Advantages: A good read
Disadvantages: sometimes a bit biased/right wing
I don't know where and when the daily mail was first produced but wherever it came from it's certainly an okay read.
I suppose it doesn't contain that many articles full of celeb gossip and trash that can come out from some other papers (i.e the sun!) Instead it has a good variety of news and information but at the same time isn't too boring to read, Although it does contain a lot of advertisement but then that's what you expect.
The mail is 40p and is usually contains 70-100 pages apart from the mail on Sunday which I don't read so I can't give my opinion on that. As with most papers the sport is on the back and makes up quite a large chunk. It covers all sports but its main focus is on football. The First page always has a summary of the weather and has the world cities weather from yesterday. It has a TV section, letters page, coffee section, business and finance, self (Monday), female (Tuesday's and Thursday's), money mail (Wednesday), it's Friday! (Friday), it is quite anti-government especially at the moment with a lot of articles on Mr.Blair and the rest. It also has a lot of focus on the royals especially prince William and Harry, it had a lot of coverage when the queen's mother died, a bit too much in my opinion!.
The paper itself is tabloid size meaning its not too big but the print is more of a broadsheet style. There are a lot of writers that can produce good articles although they do get biased and exaggerate the facts, but then that's what all papers do. There is also a feeling that the mail seems to think that there's a right way to do everything.
Out of all the papers I've read the mail is probably the best choice, it isn't great but its reasonable enough, although I would never give a paper five stars because it's news is never accurate enough. But then I suppose the same could be said for all the others!
Summary: A good read
