Advantages: Cheap, easy to read, entertaining.

Disadvantages: Not much "news", girls with boobs out on most pages!

The Daily Star is a UK tabloid newspaper available Monday to Saturday- its currently the cheapest national newspaper at just 20p Monday to Friday and 30p on a Saturday. I don't actually buy it myself, my hubby buys it (and yes I let him lol!), he says its because its the cheapest paper...I personally think its to do with the third page in....!!!!!

The newspaper is a very "simple" paper to read, it doesn't tend to cover very important problems around today, and is much more bothered about Sports, and celebrities. But, the paper is a very easy paper to read if your not really into politics and the recession etc! And seeing as its half the price of the other tabloid papers, and a fraction of the price of the broadsheets!

The Star has a select readership of mainly young men, and the paper definitely caters to its readers....the front page tends to be a short story on Celebrities...lets take this Saturdays front page for example..."TALENT SUE BIGGER THAN BRITNEY", which is a story about the Susan Myers from Britains Got Talent been more popular than Britney Spears. Not exactly breaking news! But, still the paper drags in readers from all over the country!!

The Star is available in all good newsagents, Supermarkets, and Petrol Stations (which stock Newspapers!!!).

As well as the news sections of the paper, there is also a large Puzzles page, and a big section at the back on Sports...though this annoys me lots as the back page is ALWAYS football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As a Rugby league fan it gets very annoying when Football dominates all!!! :-@ lol.

Well other than that, The Star is a simple paper to read, the stories aren't complicated, and are entertaining. Yes it may not have the biggest breaking news, but its a good read alongside another paper like the Daily Mail etc.

Summary: An ok newspaper if you want a quick read!

Well the people I know who read it are young men, between 18 and 35, so its kinda inbetween. And not only "working class" people read it. Not all people with good jobs, and a bit of good inheritance were born with a silver spoon in their mouth and only want to read "The Times".

I would have said middle -aged working class males read it.
