It's amazing what little gems you can find when you're browsing the hundreds of different magazines on offer at your local WH Smith, a couple of weeks ago after I decided to buy myself a copy of 'Psycho' by Stuart Pearce (a great book, but thats a different review altogether) I realised that I should have quite a few loyalty card points stocked up and that I might be able to afford one of the wide selection of TV/Sci-fi Magazines that were on offer, anyway quietly looking around the magazines rack I noticed 'Dreamwatch' had a picture of Alyson Hannigan (Willow in Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Be still my beating heart!) and was instantly drawn to the magazine and gave it its mandatory flick through to see if it was any good, and It didn't seem too bad so I trotted off to the counter and happily paid with the above-mentioned Loyalty Card points. Now once I'd finally put 'Psycho' down, I all of a sudden remembered the magazine I had 'bought' and duly started to read it properly, well I am now totally hooked and that was after just 1 issue!!, It seems that if you're a fan of all things Sci-Fi then this is definitely the magazine for you, packed with features and reviews of all the latest Merchandise you can buy, Dreamwatch leaves no stone unturned. For Example, this month there are the following features - An extensive review with Willow and Tara from Buffy exploring all parts of their careers and not just the show that made them famous, A look through the pilot episodes of some of the shows that may be hitting our shores soon (note to any TV executives watching - buy Dark Angel, it looks great!!), an in depth look into the recent 'X-Men' movie - now what with me still being a kid at heart and never wanting to grow up the announcement of an X-Men movie was like all my christmases rolled into one and this just makes me even more excited about going to see the movie (a couple of friends are taking
me on Friday as a pressie- 21st birthday don't you know!), all the way through the magazine there are updates on the progression of different movies and TV shows - this time its the announcement that there will be a second series of Roswell High after large protests from the american fans and even a feature on The League of Gentlemen - not my type of show but this could appeal to fans of the series. All the way through the magazine the articles have been wrote in an extremely professional manner and are all informative and interesting, and as I said before there is a review section for the variety of spin-off products that get released which all get a full and honest review where the authors seem to know what they're talking about and aren't scared to tell you if the product isn't up to scratch (Because of one of the reviews I will be acquiring a copy of Buffy The Vampire Slayer - The Monster Book, a book detailing each different demon thats been used in the show and giving all the folklore of each different demon, both fake and real). If the next issue of this magazine is only half as good as the one I've just wrote then It'll still be head and shoulders above all the other Sci-Fi magazines out there, heck I even got a free poster of my beloved Alyson Hannigan (I think I'm going to swoon again!!). ** addition ** Just a quick note to say I've just got the new issue and if you thought I was swooning before, we now have a poster of my even more beloved Eliza Dushku (Faith in Buffy)
