(Brighton) Evening Argus:
... Argus,is one of my favourite newspapers, this is because Brighton was my hometown ,so I like to keep in touch with the news .The Argus does cover news all over Sussex and surrounding areas ,which is also very helpful. Also the Campaigning Newspaper of the year 2oo2,a well deserving title, as the Argus gets involved in issues like opposing incineraters being built in the area ,and human rights stories . The cop... Read the full review: Campaigning Newspaper of the Year update :Victory March Albion!!. by maidmarion |

This shows a degree of empathy that nationals can rarely offer except to the rich and famous. A recent death of a local p... Read the full review: A Snapshot of the seaside by reknaw |

(Lewes) Sussex Express ... can be few more joyous feelings than that as you stroll along Lewes High Street on a Friday morning knowing that there is a another edition of the Sussex Express available for your perusal. This is the weekly rag in this part of the world. It is published in Lewes and I guess is the paper for the town and country folk of middle East Sussex. It's tabloid shape and unabashedly local. School plays, fundraisers, event, open gardens and coffe mornings plus the vital news about drainage, planning issues and the affairs of the town and district council are its meat and drink. The letters too have a certain parochial charm and can often be simple down right bigot... Read the full review: Are you local? We'll have no trouble here! by thevenerablebede |

(Brighton) Evening Argus ... have read the Argus since I was a child because it is the local newspaper in Brighton and Hove. I used to go round to the paper shop and ask for "Dargus." It's always there, it's familiar and comfortable and easy. That was until recently when I realised that the Argus is actually a very dissapointing newspaper. It is the undisputed king of the area's newspaper field. There is no real competitor. Yet it persists in its tabloidy, parish newsletter approach. The first inside pages are the most hackish attempt at international news I know. Followed by the usual sellection of "Mans hat blew off," "Cat trapped in dashboard"...
