Advantages: Interesting and informative

Disadvantages: Won't review every new game for your format

When Edge was launched in 1993 it was perhaps the most innovative computer games magazine on the market, and seven years later that is basically the way it remains. Unlike most computer games magazines, Edge doesn't concentrate on any one format and as a result you don't get a biased magazine that slags off every other format. Edge is not filled with reviews of every new release or pages of cheats, but instead features reviews of the best games of the month across a range of formats, an informative news section featuring all the latest hardware and software developments and many interesting articles. The feature articles which include features on new hardware, interviews with developers or articles about other gaming developments which would not be covered in anywhere near as much detail elsewhere.

Although I have not bought Edge for quite a while, its always a magazine that I know I can buy if I want an interesting and informative read without reading a magazine where every game is awarded 90+% and the reader is treated like a little kid.
