Disadvantages: It's a rip off. All adverts. Elle must make a fortune but who would buy it?!

Elle is a glossy magazine full of fashion and articles about fashion. It is good for anyone working in the fashion industry that needs to keep up to date and for those women who are genuinely fashion-obsessed.

I felt it was full of adverts so never bought it but hubbie picked up a copy on the train for me last night so I thought I'd read it. I did an interesting test first. I held it in one hand and just let the pages flick through from back to front. I have to say it failed my readability test. I did not notice one article. It was all adverts! Like I said, if you need to keep up to date with the fashion industry then I'm sure a collection of adverts will help. but if you actually want to read about fashion and learn about fashion, I'm not sure this magazine would be much use.

When I settled down to read (well first of all, FIND) the articles, I found them to be lacking in any detail or anything of interest. To be honest, didn't really tell me anything about fashion even.

CONTENT
A rip-off. Far too many articles. In the copy I have, you do not even reach the contents until page 15! So that's 14 pages of glossy adverts straight off! You then have to wait until page 31 for an overview of what will be on Elle's website this month. Then more adverts... page 50 then has a quick Q&A session with a few A-listers of the fashion world (I've not heard of any of them!) More adverts... I flicked another 50 odd pages and still did not come across an article. Cannot flick anyone. If I look at one more picture of an emaciated drug-addicted model with her baps out, I will be forced to go upstairs and make myself sick. I cannot believe I ate a whole bowl of cereal for breakfast... with semi-skimmed milk... Oh the shame!!

£3.50 per month. Honestly - just go and walk around by some billboards. It's free and you'll get some exercise!

Summary: Shocking waste of the rainforest to print this garbage!
