Crowned Review Empire: Everything You Want To Know About Movies (4081 words)
by - written on 27/09/08 (Very useful, 191 readings)
Rating:

Empire Magazine -------------------------- This review was written when I wasn't up to my best due to an accident this morning, so please tell me if there's a mistake anywhere and I will fix it. :D I'm here rating my first ever magazine review, it took me a while to decide whether to do a review on this particular magazine, but I thought I might as well. For this review, I am going to need to use the latest issue to help with my review, but will try my hardest not to ruin anything in the issue. Hope it helps and I really hope you enjoy the review. What is Empire Magazine? ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Empire magazine - does the job perfectly (510 words)
by - written on 30/09/08 (Very useful, 334 readings)
Rating:

If you have read any of my other reviews, you'll notice that most of them are film-related. I do like films! Nearly a year ago, I won a competition and the prize was a year's subscription to Empire magazine. I usually buy it anyway, so I was very happy to have won this. Over the past year, I have patiently waited each month for the latest copy to plop through the letterbox onto my floor, and then eagerly sit down with a cup of copy and plan what films I'm going to watch next. Empire magazine has been in circulation since 1989, and is considered the best film magazine out there. It centres on new releases and those 'under the radar' films that may pass you buy, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Empire: Cinema Paradiso (901 words)
by - written on 20/08/05 (Very useful, 89 readings)
Rating:

Empire Magazine is a monthly collection of articles regarding almost everything to do with the world of cinema. It may be slightly difficult to keep this a review to all copies of Empire, what with change of editors and so forth, but for the most part they always adhere to a few core sections and maintain a respectfully high standard. The publication has a simple cover. Whatever the big movie is, they’ll choose the most recognizable image and plaster it right on the front. If it’s Star Wars, they’ll stick Darth Vader on it, if it’s Terminator they’ll stick the governor of California on it and so on… Along with this they’ll stick a tag line to get you hooked, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Movie Mania! (654 words)
by - written on 15/10/04 (Very useful, 79 readings)
Rating:

I'm a bit of a movie fan. I like to go to the cinema at least once a week, although I've been known to go three or four times in one week, which is actually really rather unhealthy now I come to think of it! I should consider getting out more in all honesty. So, let's face it...the one movie magazine that comes to your head before all others is Empire, of course, and as a wannabe movie mogul, you bet I've forked out my money for it on more than one occassion. For a start, it doesn't come in particularly cheap, at £3.10 an issue, although it is quite a weighty volume (the December 2003 copy that I've got in front of me right now has over 200 pages), ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Empire: The best available film magazine (594 words)
by - written on 10/05/02 (Very useful, 134 readings)
Rating:

I have been buying Empire magazine for around six years now, and for the last four I haven’t missed an issue. I have tried pretty much every other film magazine available, even bought a couple (such as Total Film) fairly regularly for a while. But I always come back to Empire simply because, in my eyes at least, they are the most reliable source for reviews and news available. Empire is produced in Britain for a British audience (lists UK release dates etc.). It is a monthly magazine, and currently costs £3.00. For you money you get approximately 160 pages, which consists of the following sections: First look: Photos and information about ...  Read the complete review
