Empire isn't the most popular movie magazine in Britain for nothing. It's very accessible and if you're looking for simple 'would a normal person like this?' reviews then this is the one for you. It's interesting and down-to-earth.

However, if you're looking for brave, insightful opinions about the contemporary film industry, then stay away. It's very lightweight and tries it's hardest not to offend anyone about anything. As a result, it's pretty bland reading if you're a real movie-buff, but perfect for people who just want to relax and read about the latest mainstream movies (and look at the pictures).
