Advantages: It gives you info on future films as far on as 6 and 7 years ahead.
Disadvantages: Alot of advertisments is childresns DVD's.
One day I went to buy a PC magazine like usual when EMPIRE caught my eye. I never usually buy film magazines because most of the time it’s all about the same movie each month, but this magazine looked stunning with the picture of Hannibal lector on it so I had a glimpse and straight away knew that this was the magazine for me. Empire is a monthly magazine at the price of £2.90, which has advertisements, reviews, interviews, gives you information of future films and very rarely gives you a free gift. Each month it reviews DVD’s, best films to rent, gadgets, film sound tracks and books (all about films) and the latest films to see at the cinema. It advertises film related web sites, DVD’s, and basically anything about films. Also each month the Empire picks a special cinema film for example in March’s issue was the film HANNIBAL! and would take a big leap into the film and give as much information as possible. As usual Empire has competitions and cut out’s such as in March’s issue, the cut outs were horror characters giving a description about each. Another outstanding bit that you wont find in another film magazine is Empire gives a short description about future film coming out that could even be coming out in eight years. Also the Empire magazine can be subscribed to. The only disadvantage is I think is that it is more suited for adults and there is a lot of advertising and reviewing children’s DVD’s such as Digimon and Bob the builder. I think a lot of time and effort went into the making of this magazine and should probably be bought monthly if you are a film fan. The Empire web site address is www.empireonline.co.uk. - 02/03/01 Good op. The sentence on the disadvantages does not make sense though. |
