I was delighted to finally find a magazine that credits women readers with some intelligence. I have nothing against reading about sex (Cosmopolitan), but when it gets to be issue after issue and there are endless articles about the best way to keep your man satisfied, you tend to get a bit bored. For some reason I don't get on with Marie Claire - perhaps too many adverts and clothes that are well out of my price range. I'm a bit young for "The Lady" and "Woman's Own/Woman" don't really appeal to me at the moment.

So, I bought the first issue of Eve out of interest. It was well advertised in WHSmith and I read it on the way home from Newcastle to Gloucester . It kept me well occupied, with a truly disgusting, yet strangely compelling article on colonic irrigation (with graphic pictures). I enjoyed reading the rest, yet felt that it was perhaps aimed at slighter older age group (I'm 22) or even trying to cover too much. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I have since bought the 2nd and 3rd issues and feel that they have settled down into their style.

The articles are informative and interesting and it is well worth the cover price. There is information on women's health, fashion that won't break the budget and some good ideas for home decoration and cooking. I have got myself a subscription as I have a feeling I will be buying it every month.
