“ Daily evening paper. „
At thirty two pence this newspaper is very expensive (comparitively speaking!). I would even go so far as to call it an extravagance to buy it.It sometimes costs more than a penny a page. A penny a page for advertising is extortionate. There are usually around twenty four pages in each Evening News and many of these carry advertising or 'in-house' advertising for Bluechip Travel (owned by The Cumberland News Group). There is little news and the rest of the psper is made up of rehashed stories. For example a recent story told the tale of a man who wascseriously ill in hospital and his dog was allowed to visit him. The results were excellent. Now, three years later they rehash the story and tell us that the man is still doing well. (And so forth...) The situations vacant section in this paper is usually very poor. It might be worth buying on a Thursday if you are interested in job vacancies because The Cumberland News offers preferential advertising rates to companies who advertise in Thursdays Evening and Fridays weekly paper. There are the usual array of small ads, articles wanted and for sale and sometimes a few motoring or property ads but most of these appear in the weekly paper. Don't waste your money on this paper as it's an expensive luxury. It takes no more than ten minutes (if that) to read and you can catch up on everything in the weekly paper.
