Advantages: High quality, balanced opinion and entertaining magazine
Disadvantages: Sometimes focus too much on the Japanese cars
I have been an avid reader of many motoring magazines for at least 10 years and have subscribed to many in the past. EVO carries on where Performance Car left off - testing many cars in real world situations and, at the same time, showing you another world of the dream cars! There are plenty of reviews in each magazine, well written and unbiased (although they do love to go on about the Jap supercars - Evo VI, Scooby etc.). At the back of each magazine, you will find many "Fast Fleet" cars - that are thoroughly tested over a long period of time and in all conditions. There are other magazines that offer up-to-the-minute information (such as Autocar) but few that offer such comprehensive advice. One especially great feature is when they focus on a specific car each month (TVR's, Porsches, Fiat's and so on) and give a really balanced opinion. They get some owners to give their opinion, which always helps! Overall, for the few pounds that the magazine costs, it is a very entertaining read and worth a look. . .
