Advantages: fun, modern, and aimed at the ordinary bloke
Disadvantages: Format is getting a bit tired
FHM was probably the front runner in bringing the world men's magazines which didn't have to be put on the top shelve, and which didn't isolate vast swathes of the population (as GQ and Arena did at the time).
FHm is the biggest selling mens magazine on the market, combining humour, sex, style, fashion and general interest stories, in a once a month bundle bought by over 2 million readers.
However the format of FHM is getting a little bit tired, and the "uniqueness" of the magazine is beginning to wain. AT one point FHM offered something which no other magazine did, however now there are numerous magazines on the market offering similar (or better) content.
That said, it's still a good read, and some of the new spin off magazines such as FHM Bionic or FHM Collections are well worth a look.
