Advantages: Good Read , Plenty pics

Disadvantages: Loads of Ads, Bit pricey

What is the usual rage at this time of year? Sun? No! Sea? No! Surely it must be sand then? No!

Well what on earth is it then? The Results of the FHM 100 Sexiest Women (SW) Poll.

Of course it is, then comes the sun, sea and sand bit! That’s right the official results of the worlds 100 SW have been announced and every red hot-blooded male will run out to get their very own special edition copy.

This year the magazine is neatly presented in a big red box / handbag type thing and the results of the poll this year have been published in a beautifully presented glossy magazine, with pictures of scantily clad women from one end to the other.

I have never been a regular reader of FHM but pick it up on the odd occasion of having a great interview or of course the 100 SW, now those of you who know me well will be thinking why on earth is JamesD22 so into this 100 SW, not exactly his thing? Well I have been an avid follower for the 7 years it has been running and have been really intense at following it since the days when Kylie picked up the accolade.

That is my main reason each year for following it over the years to see where Kylie comes, this year she came an impressive 47 up from 67 last years! Although she is placed at number 7 in the all time top ten :o)

Anyway it was the poll that got my interest into FHM and what it has to offer and help may make my decision for my next opinion.

So what has the magazine got on offer? The magazine is jam packed from cover to cover with interviews, glossy pictures and stories, all 258 pages are used to their full potential, with interviews from the biggest stars and the usual features.

Interviews ~

Every month there are interviews from the hot stars of the moment. This month we see an excellent interview with the infamous Morecambe and Wise of today that is Ant & Dec. In a no holds bar type interview every possible question is asked and ever
y possible answer form the cheeky duo was given and the usual girl talk is thrown in with Dec admitting he to is a big Kylie fan (No wonder I like this pair so much ;o))

Fashion ~

As with all these magazines fashion features heavily with all the latest in trends, be it as an advert or an added feature. All in all this month the fashion pages took up 32 pages in feature and then probably about another 20 in ads.

You are provided a full list of details where all the clothes have came form and how and where to order them and believe it or not the likes of River Island and Next are featured in here, which shows FHM is for every man out there not just that rich bloke down the road with the flash car.

Now I seen a lot of blokes ears sit up there when I mentioned that three letter word? What do you mean I never mentioned sex I know I didn’t! Well what three letter word? CAR!

Of course the next best three-letter word known to the male species is car. Well don’t go rushing to FHM for articles on your greatest passion, as this was something there was very little about! There were 2 articles in all on this beloved subject and I think they must have took up about 0.05% of the spreadsheets, which is a refreshing change for a macho man’s magazine, can you imagine me reading a macho man’s mag! Well now you can!

Reviews ~

There is a dedicated section for reviews although this concentrates on the usual things like Music and Film, it also highlights Home Entertainment with the latest books, games and even games console equipment.

There are many reviews out with the reviews section and one that really caught my eye was the FHM tried and tested Chilli Sauces. This interested me as my Alex is an expert on chilli and over the years I have seen many different types pass through our larder, he has tried and tested most but not the winner ‘Possible Side Effects’ that gets a wh
opping 9/10 although they do say it looks disgusting, the words ‘blood clot’ were used. So maybe this should be on the shopping list next time and maybe get him to write his opinion on it!

Scantily Clad Women ~

Now all those red blooded males out there will know exactly what I mean here. FHM is not unlike any other lad’s mag in this department. Get the women in dress them up in next to nothing have a fantastic photo shoot and cram as many as possible between the covers. If only between the covers I hear most of you yell! Well I meant covers of the magazine!

I began to count how many half naked or nearly naked women featured in this months magazine (excluding the top 100 of course) and after about page 40 I gave up as I had counted almost 21 so I was thinking on average by page 258 that we could be well in to the 120’ region if not more! So I am sure if you guys pick up this mag you will be amused for a while.

Grooming ~

Each month present a handy grooming tip to all those prim and proper blokes and the not so prim and proper. FHM highlight that grooming is important for all and this month they focus the attention on our little feet and advise us how we should be cutting out toe nails and looking after our feet in general.

Interiors ~

This is a regular feature and is normally focused on making the perfect bachelor flat and this month’s feature looks great! All white and silver and very minimalist indeed complete with handy decorating tips, yeah like Joe Bloggs did all that on his own!

Hardware ~

This section focuses on another favourite of the boys? Gadgets we all love them and have tried and tested them all. Each month FHM focuses on the in toy of the month and this month sees a great in depth review of some of the best Digital Cameras on offer in the market place today, I thought of some fellow members when I read this, as that is there are things
in this mag he would really appreciate cameras and scantily clad women what more could he ask for?

These are only some of the features in the magazine on a monthly basis. This is truly one of those magazines where you do get value for money and at £3.50 a read I am not complaining at all! It has some really interesting and some hilarious stories that I have not covered for the sheer fact I could go on all morning.

So for a rare change pick up a sizzling copy of the latest FHM or even any others of you wish!

I picked my copy up at work and it was not only read by me and the guys in the team, but the women had a right good chuckle over it and they all paid a great interest as to who was where in the top 100 SW and criticised who looked like what, well several of them were just pipped at post by our Jennifer so did feel a little resentment!

Enjoy your read and pick up a hot 100 soon I am sure you will enjoy!

Excellent op, James, although I must admit I was a bit confused thinking you were interested in the sexy women list. Still, when you mentioned Kylie, it all became clear ;-)

hehe! can't say that the SW poll interests me, but the rest of the mag is far more entertaining than all the trashy women's mags on sale! I buy this each month on the pretence that it is for hubby, but he rarely gets to see it!
