Advantages: lOTS OF ADVERTS IF YOU LIKE THAT SORT OF THING

Disadvantages: TOO MANY ADVERTS

I have been buying FHM now since sometime in 1994 , when the early issues featured pictures of men and women on the front covers, not just women!
The features have changed somewhat over the past 7 years and now include more interviews and pictures of women in bikinis that I have never heard of.(dont get me wrong, I am a red blooded male),but its nice to read an interview about someone I have seen on telly or even maybe heard about before.

The price is now £3.00, not much of a price rise since '94 when I think it was about £2.20, so they got that right.
What I like the most about FHM is its features about real life strange goings on, but what I really despise is having to turn over the first 16 pages of adverts to get to anything to read, do FHM not make enough money at 3 quid a shot from us that they have to fill thier publication with 2 page spread adverts for silk cut cigarettes and a watch that would probably cost anyone a years wages?

Enough of my moans!

It has excellent reviews on Books, music, videos, films and Computer games, this I cannot fault them for, and recently I got a free book with FHM full of the 'Carnival of the Grotesque' this featured some disturbing pictures such as deformed people and people falling to thier deaths (not bad but one I will keep on the top book shelf away from the kids!)
I think FHM is mainly directed toward the younger 20 somethings single man as there is nearly always a feature on 'how to dump your girlfriend' or 'Drunken delights - how to cook a gourmet meal when drunk'

Toward the back of the magazine there is about 20 pages devoted to mens fashion, sometimes some nice gear there , but I aint paying £50 for a pair of swimming trunks!

So off to the next pages, these are filled with adverts again (surprise) , this time for mobile phone ring tones and male escort services, followed by a few pages on mens health where blokes complain about
having smelly bits and pieces or bad hair!

Well I started off intending to write a nice ,glowing , happy opinion of FHM, but the more I got into it , the more I realised I would have been better of spending my £3 down the boozer, or buying the kids some chocolate!

30% adverts
30% Women I never heard of
20% Clothes
10% worth reading

I might try Maxim next!

It's a good mag...that's when I eventually manage to rescue it the other half!!
Adverts pay for the mag. If there were no ads you would pay in the region of £15 to £20 per issue!!

FHM a pile of juvenile rubbish? Surely not!

Good op. FHM's a bit juvenile these days - prefer Mondo.
