Advantages: Lots of bargains
Disadvantages: You can`t always tell the area because of mobile phone numbers
On my everlasting quest for more bargains, I will now introduce you to my favourite paper. Now not only is this paper full of bargains for all areas, it is also free to pick up at many newsagents, is free to advertise in, and also has it`s own website where it is free to browse and advertise. What more could anyone ask for, apart from the name of this fabulous paper that is. The paper is called the Friday-Ad and is available countrywide. If you don`t know if newsagents in your area take delivery of the Friday-Ad, then either just ask your local newsagents or take a look on thr maps page at www.friday-ad.co.uk. Here you will find 3 maps that tell you what areas Friday-Ad covers. Northern Editions: This covers 20 different areas. Southern Editions: This covers 23 different areas. Western Edition : This covers 8 different areas. Each edition covers your local area plus many of the surrounding areas also. For example, where I live I get the Northampton edition, this covers Northampton, Wellingborough, Kettering and Rushden. Because of the big area coverage in each paper, you are bound to find someone who has what you`re looking for. So what items does it cover? Well I`m not going to list them all because there is just far too many, in fact there must be something like 200 separate categories. What I can tell you is that all the categories are listed alphabetically in the front of the paper, so because it`s not just one huge items for sale list, articles are much easier to find. Among all the household items, books and collectibles that are advertised, there is also a cars section, holiday section, property section, and job search. All lineage adverts that you place are free as long as the item you are selling is for under £200, this applies to all sections apart from cars. Here all car adverts are free as long as you`re selling for under £2000. After that Friday-Ad offer several special deals which
are all pretty cheap. For example, at the moment you can advertise the more expensive car for only £6 which will appear in 3 different area editions. Another upside to this paper, is because it is weekly then your adverts are out for longer than your local papers so they have much more chance of being seen. Alternatively you could just place your ad on the website. There are 3 ways to place an ad, the first is to just fill in the form in the paper and post it off. The second is to phone the ad-line, which is open Mon-Fri 8am-9pm and Sat & Sun 9am-5pm, and for anyone who wants to know, then the number is 0800 1381951. The third way is to do it online at www.friday-ad.co.uk, where you can see an even bigger selection of articles for sale. If you`re more into the excitement of bidding, then you can always visit www.friday-auction.co.uk. I haven`t tried this site myself as I prefer to just buy outright. Now what you all want to know is have I bought and sold from the paper myself. The answer is yes to both, and each sale and buy has been a success and a bargain. Friday-Ad also have their own shops, in fact there are 20 in total dotted around the country, the adresses of which you can find on their website. Here you can buy stationary and order business cards etc. as well as place your adverts. The paper itself is only small, A4 sized with only an average of 32 pages, but absolutely jam packed full of bargains galore. What better time to check it out now that christmas is coming up, or just visit the website. Oh and before I forget, if you`re a bit odd and into all things weird then you can also check out www.bizarrebazaar.co.uk which is also a part of Friday-Ad.
