Aimed at the new makeover breed of gardener (Garden Ideas)
Member Name: BizzyB
Advantages: Up-to-date modern ideas Disadvantages: not for the traditional gardener
This magazine is specifically aimed at gardeners who want stylish, low maintenance and fun gardens. It is obviously very inspired by the spate of garden makeover television shows and is targeting that audience. The magazine is very bright, lively and has a modern feeling; features have included landscaping ideas such as decking, garden makeovers, container gardening and gardening art. Given its target audience I think this magazine is very well presented and written with them in mind. The how-to articles are clear and concise. A nice touch are the separate tables and tip boxes that accompany articles, and the project features are usually followed with a break down of what is needed and stockists. If you are looking for inspiration and ideas to create a modern garden this magazine would probably help your plans. There seems to be emphasis on creating low-maintenance gardens and many of their ideas can be applied to gardening on a budget. There are plant features and these are competent but if you are interested in plants and a more traditional approach to gardening you may find this magazine disappointing. If you enjoy competitions this magazine regularly has many give-aways and big prizes, for example, this year they have run competitions to win a £5000 garden makeover, a £5000 deck and lawnmowers. It is a monthly magazine Summary: |
