Advantages: Every paper tells it in a different way!

Disadvantages: Which one tells the truth?

I stopped buying a regular daily newspaper about ten years ago. I must admit that the main reason was that I didn't know which one I should choose.

I could have read the Times and I did a couple of days a week, but that all seemed a bit hibrow and I didn't feel that I was getting the real 'grass roots' view of the days events. Apart from that, carrying a Times where I live says 'I think I'm educated...' (Or at least,that's what the facial expressions of on lookers said).

You can't get much more 'grass roots' than the Sun, so I tried that. I'm not into page three girls and other scantily clad persons and I don't follow football so that wasn't for me either.

The Guardian looked like a good choice but I found the content dry and a bit crusty and I felt as though I was being force fed some else's opinions.

The Mail was very one-sided and I just didn't care for the Telegraph's layout. Anyway, I gave up.

I do buy Sunday papers some weeks but I tend to end up with three or four so that I can get a more balanced view of events. My favourite selection is: Sunday Post, Observer, Mail on Sunday and Sunday Telegraph. I don't suppose that gives me a totally rounded view either, but at least I try.
