Advantages: good reading

Disadvantages: lose readers

I have stopped buying the news papers. I got fed up with the doom, gloom, and gross exaggeration, of subjects.
Yet when they write some hard hitting news such as that of little Sarah Payne. The paedaphiles name and shame, they make it worth reading. Like wise with the Queen mothers celebrations these are things we want to hear about, not the tittle tattle, that goes on and blowing this up to suit themselves. I want to read good plain news things that we really need to know about. I do not want to read stuff they print because they know it will sell their paper. Give us the news we want, and what we pay for then I may go back to reading them again.

I am 69 and have not read a newspaper for 4 years now because newspapers have become magazines. The "news" is sensationalised to generate readers. It is not written as it it happened nor as it was originally spoken by politicians and other famous personalities rather how the journalist interprets what has been said or happened. "Headlines"are all newspaper journalists are bothered about.
