Advantages: the price, lots of style ideas

GLAMOUR arrived on the market three years ago and since then has rocketed to becoming the best selling women's magazine, so it must have some appeal somewhere. I must admit I do rather love it. Firstly because of it's size: at half the size of normal magazines Glamour is convenient and easy to carry around, like the slogan says: "it fits into your handbag". Other magazines have introduced the same idea so it certainly must have some appeal. Glamour is packed with celebrity interview, pictures, real life events but mainly GLAMOUR: the latest shoes, bags, lip gloss. If you are debating where to go and what to buy this will ensure you're always looking your best. The trouble is, unless you have a bulging wage packet it's unlikely the average reader will be able to afford many of the items discussed (Jimmy Choo shoes for £700 anyone...) Still, it's always nice to dream.... The major criticism I have with Glamour is that that it is just to frothy, unlike other magazines on the market it really doesn't deal with massively important social issues, or when it tries, it appears not to really care. The price is excellent, at £1.90 it is one of the cheapest monthly magazines around, especially when you consider the bulk of many of the editions: it can certainly keep you occupied.
