Advantages: Worth the money

Disadvantages: Quite heavy to carry around

I've been buying glamour every month for over a year now and I love it. It's reasonably priced, usually only about £2 which is far less than other magazines such as Cosmopolitan (£3.20 monthly) and even some weeklies such as Heat (£1.65 a week = £6.60 a month).

Every month the magazine gives sex advice, interviews a celebrity, has a centrefold of someone famous to raise awareness of testicular cancer, loads of fashion advice which ranges from both the reasonably priced to the slightly more expensive, alongside real life advice and beauty tips. There is a lot to read for the amount of money that you pay. The magazine is about 350 pages on average (A5 sized), however this is more articles and pictures than it is adverts which is really good.

The June issue featured Geri Halliwell, Patrick Dempsey, all the latest summer fashion styles (from places like Next to Miss Sixty to Faith and River Island), advice pages, Wentworth Miller, movie reviews, CD reviews, alongside everything listed above. An impressive amount as far as I'm concerned!

The magazine equally is always offering lots of free things, rarely available when you buy the magazine, but if you go to their website, or cut out the tokens and take them to your local participating store you can get lots of discounts and free items. Recently the magazine gave away thousands of prizes to the first 500 people who logged onto their website each day and answered a celebrity based questions, this continued for a month giving away everything from hair-straighteners to moisturisers to make up.

Glamour is very much a womens magazine, it has articles which are both serious and silly and is therefore suitable for a wide range of people. All of the articles are long and deal with issues in detail, so it's certainly not the sort of thing that you can pick up and put back down again within half an hour. It is however the perfect train companion and I'd definitely reccommend for all women to read it!

Summary: Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
