Advantages: Good articles and features. Fits easily in a bag

Disadvantages: Used to be a lot cheaper that the £2 it is now but still good value

I've read Glamour for about 5 years now and never miss an issue. I tend to get it in Tesco's after a hard day's work and settle into the bath with it for an hour.

Glamour always has a good layout to it. I like the front section which usually contains letters, quick, regular features on do's and don'ts of celebrity fashion and lifestyle, You You You, which focuses on work, social life and health and beauty and the horoscopes. There is another regular feature at the back on the last page - The Glamour List - a list of things that are related to a specific topic such as the April 09 issues 'The day that Glamour was born, who knew that...'.

In the middle is the main body of articles on fashion, beauty and the big features for each issue.

There are two reasons I read Glamour. Firstly it is not obsessed with Celebrity like Closer etc. The features in it are normally well written and not sensationalised. The issue I have in front of me at the moment for reference (April 09) has articles on Iraq as seen by the women living there, 25 simple ways to save your life (health MOT) and an article written by a girl who lives in the same road as Kate Moss on what impact living on the same street as a celebrity (with all the attention they attract) has on her day to day life.

There are also a few celebrity interviews - for example in the April issue again - Victoria Beckham on her family, fashion and fundraising. The difference however on how this magazine handles it's celebrity interviews is that they treat the people they interview like people and don't ask questions about their work, family life and what is important to them. The two celebrities interviewed in this issue were Victoria Beckham and Nicole Richie - normally two people I would avoid reading about, but they were put across as normal people with interests like the rest of us rather than sensationalising their private lives to sell more magazines.

The fashion and beauty section is also brilliant with clothes that are wearable and often affordable and good beauty tips and product recommendations.

I would recommend Glamour because of it's good balance of regular features that I really enjoy catching up on, good interviews with celebrities and great fashion and beauty articles. The overall impression of it is that it is a magazine that appreciates that sometimes we want to read frothy and entertaining articles but also want quality features and interesting stories and gives us both without resorting to bitching about people in the public eye.

Summary: I can't believe its only been around 8 years. It feels like I've been reading it forever!
