Glamour Magazine is a monthly magazine for women. The copy in our living room cost £2 for July 2009 and has 306 pages of articles and fashion spreads for women.
Its actually a pretty good read, the magazine comes in two sizes, one typical full sized and the other a handbag sized magazine for women to carry around.
The magazine is glossy and it is apparently, 'Britain's No 1 Women's Magazine'. Of the 306 pages I'd say at least 80 are adverts for fragrances, make up and clothing, the rest of the magazine is made up of features, stories, celebrity interviews and about 60 pages of fashion and beauty tips.
The magazine looks great and is really well set out, like many modern magazines, the first section covers readers letters, loads of little bite sized artices offering statistics and advice, then you have the more in-depth sections, in this issue covering how to cope with a recession, how men work women out in 20 seconds and a list of interviews with the people voted women of the year.
There are good reviews of books, tv, film and music and the pages are filled with as much as can be crammed in meaning you will keep referring back again and again for bits you might have missed.
I have to say for £2 I think its really good value, the articles are well written, the photographs look fantastic and it's a really attractive layout, the fashion spreads look great and are relevant to real women, rather than showing outfits costing thousands for anorexic clothes horses, the magazine offers practical advice for real women in every form. I'm quite happy for my partner to read this as I don't think it portrays 'Perfect female role models' that are difficult to attain, it is honest and sassy and understands real women.
Summary: An Excellent magazine for modern women
