Advantages: A great monthly read
Disadvantages: Adverts
I'm a regular reader of Glamour Magazine and I currently subscribe; however, to buy from the newsagents it would cost you £2 for each monthly magazine. You usually get a discount or a free gift for subscribing, and it's delivered to your door as soon as it is available.
Glamour magazine seems to be aimed at 20 - 35 year old women who are into fashion and current affairs.
Upon opening each magazine you will always find a couple of pages advertising things such as the latest perfume or a new make up product. You'll then find a contents page listing what's in this months issue.
Each issue will cover topical issues such as the credit crunch; real life stories (both celebrity and non-celebrity); entertainment (awards / interviews with a celeb); fashion; beauty; health and usually some sort of quiz to find out more about yourself.
I always find something interesting to read in Glamour, i'm not that up on celebrities but there is usually someone i've heard of. The fashion pages usually have items in all price rages from buget to if only I were a millionaire, prices. Reading real life stories which are sometimes about issues close to the heart and also readers letters about topical issues are usually my favourite sections.
Sometimes you will also recieve a free gift with the magazine, although if you subscribe you don't get a choice if there are different colour freebies.
The only downside is the number of adverts, I know that's how they make their money so they'll never stop them.
Summary: Worth a read if you like fashion & beauty
