Advantages: An excellent golf magazine.
Disadvantages: Not a lot!
I love my golf. In fact, I'm an incurable addict who *NEVER* wants to be cured.
Because I'm such an addict, when I'm not actually playing the sport there's nothing I enjoy more than reading about it.
Golf Monthly is a magazine that I often buy as it is jam packed full with useful information for a golfer, including reviews and prices of new equipment, interviews with the top players, reviews of famous (and not so famous) golf courses, and loads and loads of instructive articles on how to improve your game.
The layout is bright and cheerful, with plenty of good photographs and illustrations to brighten things up.
I've been reading Golf Monthly since I used to nick it from the local clubhouse when nobody was looking when I was nothing but a nipper. So make that for quite a few years, if not *QUITE* back as far as Queen Victoria's reign!
You can buy it at your local newagent/garage etc for a cover price of £3.70, or you can take out a yearly, two yearly or six monthly subscription that will save you a few bob. Simply "Google" Golf Monthly and you'll get a plethora of offers!

Summary: One of the older, better golf mags. Good content. Reasonably priced.
