Today's Golfer ... ve only recently decided to get into golf, wanting to take my game from the pitch and putt course to something a bit more serious! Today s Golfer sprang out to me from the magazine rack because the particular issue I first bought came with a club guide - perfect for a starter like me. The magazine is well laid out, with some excellent photography. There is a good mix of golfing news from the tour, tips from professionals, step-by-step guides, gear reviews adn questions from readers, as well as golfing holidays (although this isn t a section that interests me). Golf Monthly ... however, every time I do I always find something that I can use to improve my game. Another valuable feature is the review of products, this is in good detail and doesn t overwhelm you with too much technobabble. This section in particular proved very useful, while looking to upgrade my clubs I was looking at some expensives brands, however, after reading this magazine it encouraged me to look at a less well known brand which proved better for my game and for my wallet. If you are looking for a regular subscription there is normal a decent offer at a reduced rate including a free golf gift, normally a set of balls. Golf Monthly ... now decided to simply buy it when I chose, and usually try and give it a look when I take the train, plane etc. But despite my obvious lack of commitment to the magazine, I am here to sing its praises. Now if you are reading this, you will have probably seen a few golfing magazines in the past, the big three including this are Today s Golfer and Golf World, the later of which I can usually find when at school as they have a subscription. I have dabbled in them all and so I feel well placed to offer a comparison. Firstly I would like to say that whichever you buy, the sections will be the same, with news, instruction, interviews, course guides and new gear all present ...
