Advantages: Conains many different articles to engage any man
Disadvantages: You probably won't be able to buy anything in the magazine as it's all so damn expensive!!
GQ magazine, or Gentlemen's Quarterly as it is properly called, is a magazine for men that contains a variety of articles. It could be cars, fashion, news, sport or any general article related to men that pops up in the pages of one of these magazines.
~Sport~
The sport side of GQ is very different to your normal sport side of a mens magazine, like say Nuts, for it includes exclusive interviews of sports players, not news on matches, but their views on their line of work, giving a very different and a unique approach to sport.
~Fashion~
GQ is spends a large portion of its pages on making people look good. They have many clothes and show you how to wear them. Unfortunately, if you really wanted to buy some of these clothes, then it would indeed set you back quite a bit. A good example being an article from this months issue talking about polo shirts, one of them from D&G advertised costing a whopping £263.
~Cars~
You will normally find one or two articles on cars throughout the magazine each month. GQ always tend to show either luxury sport cars in their stories, or articles about new and upcoming cars for the general consumer, which could for example be very economically friendly, or could offer a new space saving design, they are always very innovative.
~News~
Within the magazine, many different news stories are covered and analysed, the best one in recent articles has been an article analysing the economic crisis we are in, in Britain. It gave me a good insight into the crisis and highlighted some of the key people who were responsible for all of the trouble that we have been having.
~Food~
Yes, GQ even covers food, you can expect to find a minimum of one food articles in the magazine each month. This month they showed readers how to create a rhubarb sunday, I have not tried it yet but it looked simply delicious.
~Gadgets~
There is room for technology and gizmos within the magazine, but not in every article, whenever the editors do write articles on gadgets though, they tend to be some sort of luxury item, like a £10000 sound system, or an 80 inch wide screen television to be stuck on the wall.
In conclusion, all of these points added together each month in one magazine make for a fantastic magazine, which includes so many different things, I am sure enough to entertain any man who would like to read it. You can get them each month for an average £3.99, or a subscription, which I think costs £2.99 for each article.
