Advantages: looks nice, ok to read,
Disadvantages: not realistic, full of drivvle (if thats a word)
I wouldn't normally buy Grazia as I think £1.90 weekly is a bit steep for a magazine that takes me all of an hour to read cover to cover. But I took out a mobile phone contract with Three and with all their pink phones they were giving away a 6 month magazine subscription, there were three magazines to choose from (2 of which were monthlies which would have been silly!) so I obviously chose this.
According to the top of the cover, Grazia was voted best magazine of the year (2008). I wouldn't think it was that special myself especially seen as it costs twice as much as some other fashion magazines. But it's ok for a freebie.
Grazia is as I said primarily a fashion magazine for women. £1.90 an issue, an issue comes out every Monday.
Aswell as fashion Grazia dabbles with celebrity news and gossip (like MANY cheaper magazines do) a bit of health and beauty and real-life stories.
According to the contents page there is more to Grazia than what I described above, their news stories are 'cutting edge'....hmmm such as "Madonna juggling two toy boys", serious stuff! Their real life stories are just as important "I want sex but my husband doesn't"...not exactly critical stuff, I like gritty real life stories that matter!
The fashion features are ok but the clothes tend to be high end such as in this issue, the trousers are from Harvey Nicks for £390, the shoes Gucci....this magazine isn't for 'normal' people I don't think. I like to look in a magazine and be able to buy what I see in the fashion pages, there is nothing I could afford in Grazia.
There are also a couple of LIVING pages every week which show different buys for your home, this week its dining chairs and they range in price from an affordable £59 to £360.
It's not a thick magazine, only just over 100 pages (20 of these are taken up with a TV guide) and I really don't think it's worth the money. I know once my subscription runs out I won't be buying another issue.
Summary: ok for a freebie

- 17/02/09 Great review. I subscribed to First magazine and when it was cancelled it was transferred to Grazia. There are lots of magazines I'd read before this. |

- 17/02/09 I really can't be arsed to read Grazia - I read it once but found it a bit pointless. I Prefer Glamour and Cosmopolitan! |

- 17/02/09 I really dislike Grazia - it has a bitchy tone about it and the fashion is just ridiculous. |
